10/18/2013 • WASHINGTON, October 18, 2013 –The American Petroleum Institute (API) has evaluated results from its annual motor oil testing program and determined that almost 1 in 5 samples of bulk motor oil purchased from the marketplace in each of the last five years have failed to meet API motor oil performance standards.
6/20/2013 • API’s Motor Oil Matters (MOM) Program helps oil change locations meet new motor oil labeling guidelines. The National Conference on Weights and Measures (NCWM) and the National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) recently published guidelines that would require oil change locations to provide information consumers need to make informed decisions on motor oil.

Created to bring together everyone involved in the bulk motor oil chain of custody including motor oil marketers, distributors, oil change locations and consumers, MOM is designed to ensure that drivers get the right motor oil for their cars and trucks - every time.
